At night I lay outside, on our special patch of grass
Sweet thoughts enter my mind, remind me of our past
I stare up at the sky, the stars, the moon
The changing Autumn leafs give me hope you’ll be home soon
Then this ludicrous thought hits me
Intrigues me to the point of pure curiosity
I stare up at the moon as it stares back
It’s beam of light preventing the sky from being jet-black.
I speak my thoughts, let my tongue dance free.
An image clear in my head, it’s you I see.
I spill my secrets and speak of my day.
Then I laugh by myself, letting my worries drift away.
And so I lay there at night talking to the moon
Hoping and praying that no matter where you are, I’ll be yours soon
